Legitimate interest

You must have a legitimate interest to inspect the land register. This means that you must provide the land registry with factual and comprehensible reasons why you want to inspect the land register. You have a justified interest, for example, as a potential buyer of a property — for example, to obtain information about the ownership structure and rights (e.g. usufructuary rights) and encumbrances. You can make use of this right in accordance with § 12 GBO.
